Reiki is the Japanese phrase for “universal life energy”. The Usui System of Reiki Healing is a safe, gentle, non-invasive form of hands-on healing practice. This system, one of the most ancient healing methods known to mankind, was rediscovered by Dr. Mikao Usui in the nineteenth century.

We are energy systems. If we accept this principle, then life energy is the essential and most basic element of the human energy system. When we do not have enough energy to carry out our life functions, or when we, as energy systems, are out of balance, we are as a result in suffering and pain (physically, emotionally or both). By receiving a Reiki session, our supply of life energy is increased and we return to balance, allowing the life energy to flow again so we can heal.


The true essence of Reiki is a pure heart filled with light and a desire to give and receive healing. There is no wrong way to administer Reiki because it is energy in and of itself. It will flow exactly where it needs to for the benefit of each individual person.

During a session, a client relaxes comfortably on a massage table and is surrounded by soothing music in a peaceful setting. The Reiki Practitioner places her hands on energy centers of your body, allowing the release of blocked energies thereby restoring regular balance. At no time during the session is there any physical manipulation of the body. The client remains fully clothed at all times.
